Today, after spending some time in Deutschland earlier this month, I'm headed to Italia. Tirano, specifically. So far the journey has lived up to it's supposed beauty, no doubt helped by last night's record snowfall. The mountains of Graubunden are so close throughout the canton. Leaving St. Moritz it's terra incognita for me, which is a rare thing in Switzerland these days as I've traveled most of the country's railways. On this part of the Rhätische Bahn the first language is Rhätoromansch, which is frustrating as I've been practicing Italian. Before now it's been Deutsch. The passengers around me have speaking Italian for a while now though. The train just goes up and up past the treeline. The barren landscapes reminds me a bit of Norway.
