At Ospizio Bernina one crosses from the Adriatic watershed into the Black Sea watershed. The Swiss have built a reservoir atop the pass, so that they need dams on both sides. One also passes out of the Italian linguistic barrier into the Deutsch/Rhätoromansch one.
