So I thought today I would find some hotsprings and Bormio came up in my search. The Italians are retarded like the Spanish though and require swimming caps for "sanitary reasons". I have a beard and hair all over my body, but apparently only the head hair is a problem. So when Paolo told me about a free alternative I jumped at the opportunity. About 3km outside Bormio is a riverside pool. So after enjoying my first Pizzoccheri del Valtellina I headed off toward said canyon with the spring. Okay the path was a thin bit of concrete suspended above the river, but the pool was riverside with an excellent view of the canyon's waterfalls. I put my beers in the river and slipped into the spring. Perfecto! Just like Colorado nearly a decade ago. And I didn't break any toes this time! Bormio is also going to be a venue for the next Winter Olympics, although I didn't see anyone on the slopes. Maybe the early heavy snow was a surprise here too like in Switzerland. Heading back now to Tirano, the early dark is offset by the white ground.
