22 February 2025 - Adetswil When I was younger I honestly thought science would replace the old religions if we showed how foolish they are, but, alas, the absense of the old religions just allowed crazier new ones to pop up. Douglas Murray's The War on the West is subtitled "How to Prevail in the Age of Unreason" because of the this. The book does not take on the global warming cult of St. Greta Thunberg. No, instead it takes on the death cult that is trying to erase history and see every human interaction in terms of race. I had previously only seen Murray speak, so I wasn't sure if his writing would be as good. I was not, however, disappointed. His chapter on gratitude, in particular, is so eloquently argued that I immediately went back and read it again. This is definitely a book worth reading if you care about history, reason, western culture, or teaching our children virtue rather than division. ![]() |
