Today was a tough day. I woke up early, read and studied French, and broke camp at 6:30. Hills defined the course - up and down, down and up. There was no restaurant or grocery store before Frangy at 23 km and 2 o'clock. As always I packed too many books, so my pack is overwhelming. I power through, but why? There are little free libraries where I struggle not to acquire more books (and sometimes fail). I aim to leave a book behind tomorrow and every day thereafter. But is that anymore realistic than 35 km per day? Today 26 was a struggle. The camino is ever humbling.
