9 January 2026 - Erlenbach I picked up Couleurs de Guerre half a decade ago while visiting the WWI battlefields of northern France (Reims & Verdun). I thought it would be like a book I read years ago featuring Mathew Brady's photographs to tell the story of the Civil War. This book, however, tells the story of autochrome photographers who happened to chose the Great War in France as a subject. The photographs are excellent though, so it works as a coffee table book. Unfortunately I haven't had a coffee table in years...
