Up early to run along the Via da Polacs to Tavanasa. Alone. It gave me a lot of time to reflect on the past few days. I saw lots of old friends and made some new ones. As a social activity it was fun. However, as a learning activity, I'm not sure that I gained much. The crowd grows older and being the token American seems to become more and more of a liability if things get political. It's like I'm on waterskis and I'm flying over the shark, and I'm really not sure how or if I'm going to land. But really I'm on a train headed down the Rheinschlucht to Chur, so I should count my blessings and enjoy the beauty of this world.
