20 February 2026 - Erlenbach I read Graham Greene's Our Man in Havana a decade ago. A brilliant book that presaged the Castro-led revolution there, as many of Greene's books were prescient. But beyond The Third Man I didn't realise they'd been made into movies. Today YouTube recommended an adaption of Our Man in Havana which stars Alec Guinness of all people! It was fabulous; captured the pace and humor of the novel perfectly. Actually a lot of older movies seem to now be freely available on YouTube, which is a great development. The thing I loved about circa 2009 Netflix, that you can get ANY movie to watch on DVD, was the best thing about that company which has since strayed into an entirely different limited business model where they are the studio and the distribution. It's funny how things change so quickly.
