I wanted to get cash for this weekend, so today I went to the train station to go to the ATM. Unfortunately it was gone. Admittedly I only use the ATM every few months because the cash I carry is a seldom used backup, but it's good to have. I guess my neighbors didn't frequent the ATM either, so it didn't make economic sense to keep it open. Just like they closed the Erlenbach post office last year. You can still mail things at the Coop grocery store though. A little googling and I learned that the closet still existing ATM was in the next town over, Küsnacht. So I hopped on the train and soon had my cash. I haven't really wandered around the town of Küsnacht, however much running I've done in its woodlands, and I decided to explore a bit. Stopping in the gourmet grocery store I immediately picked up an artichoke for dinner and then wandered around their wineceller before settling on a Saint-Émilion Grande Cru I hadn't tried before. Back upstairs I perused some more and discovered they have an American section. Pop Tarts, Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, Marshmallows, Skippy chunky peanut butter, and, much to my surprise and excitement, American Cheerios. Most grocery stores in Europe sell the European version of Cheerios, which tastes like they've been dipped in sugar. I am looking forward to breakfast tomorrow!
