17 August 2026 - Erlenbach So the cool thing about running a standard distance race like the 10K over flat terrain I did yesterday is that the times are easily comparible. I ran my first 10K in Sonoma, CA back in 2006 in 59:19. Twenty years later I ran yesterday's in 1:00:56. Which seems incredibly consistent, although over the years my finish times have varied by more than 30 minutes. Some of them, like the one I ran this spring, have been over mountainous terrain. My weight has also fluctuated by 20 kg during tose 20 years (lately I'm getting toward the high side again). For the past ten years of flat terrain 10Ks I'm pretty consistantly an hour or less, which is not bad. ![]() |
