Brown Bear

The brown bear roams throughout much of the northern hemisphere. It features on the flag of California. In the lower 48 US states and Canada it is known as the grizzly. In Alaska there is another subspecies call the kodiak bear. And maybe even the polar bear should be considered a subspecies despite diffent habits because the genetic relationship is close enough to produce viable offspring where their ranges overlap.
