Figeac - Cajarc

Lot, France

Trails Index | Via Podiensis

One climbs up from Figeac on the Célé river at Livinhac-le-Haut to rolling hills in fields with small towns. Toward the middle is the little town of Faycelles with cafés and restaurants. One starts to see little stone huts attached to the walls that line the old roads with are now the path. After that through the forests and field is Gréalou, where there is a café and epicerie. Then one travels even further back into history with 3000-4000 year old Celtic dolmens which dot the landscape and whose purpose can only be speculated about. At the end of this segment there is a steep cliffside descent to the sizeable town of Cajarc back on the Lot river.
