Nájera - Santo Domingo de la Calzada La Rioja, España Trails Index | Camino de Santiago

This section of the Camino goes over the hill from Nájera to Santo Domingo de la Calzada. In 2022 I started at Nájera in the aternoon. I stopped for a beer in Azofra and then camped 5 km east of there next to grapevines. This section of the Camino is all grapevines, and so doesn't have much shade. I got another early start by moonlight and passed through Cirueña in the dark before any of the stores were open. It was dawn when I reached Santo Domingo, so I got a coffee and croissant at Café Espolon and rested a while.
