From Interlaken this section follows the northern shore of the Thunersee until there are just cliffs. Then it climbs the cliffs on trails hewn from the rock and strewn with fallen rock. Along the way one passes a river flowing out of a cave, the famous St. Beatus Höhlen. Descending to Merligen, this is the second water ferry on the Swiss Camino across the lake to Spiez.
