This is one of the shorter sections on the Via Jacobi. Descending from Romont the trail heads westward into the fields and hills separating the Glâne river valley from the Broye river valley. Both flow in a northeastward direction. Cresting the hill one crosses from Fribourg canton into Vaud. From the hills along the way their are beautiful views of the snowy Alps. Down in the Broye valley the trail follows the river to Moudon.
