This section of the Via Jacobi starts in the town of Schwarzenburg near the edge of Bern Canton. Crossing over the Sense River one passes into Freiburg Canton. This part of the Canton speaks Deutsch and so writes it Freiburg, although further west they start speaking French and writing it Fribourg.
