From Spiez the trail goes up through the castle courtyard and then through the adjacent hillside vineyards and into the forest on the Spiezberg. After that it's an assortment of cowfields and small towns down to Einigen on the lakeshore. Going up into the forest again the trail crosses the Kander river canyon and then forest alternates with fields until arriving in Wattenwil.
