Emotional Media

I posted yesterday about how I was glad Planned Parenthood wasn't going to be funded by the government anymore. I wasn't prepared for the level of hatred and personal attacks this post received. It's an emotional issue for a lot of people. I get that. For me I get physically ill thinking about the wholesale extermination of human beings. Abortion is murder. At the very least people shouldn't have their money taxed to fund something they disagree with so strongly. Taxation is theft. Theft is violence. And violence is wrong.

That said, humanity, or at least the majority I connect to on social media don't agree. I mean, if I talked about defunding the DOD (something I also support), people tend to voice their approval. I know it's a losing argument. The strong with the will to kill the weak will always triumph over them. I am powerless to stop abortion. I am powerless to stop war. I am powerless to stop taxation. But even if you are a minority of one, the truth is the truth.

Nevertheless, I'm pulling back from social media. It's addictive, so we'll see if I can stay away. I deleted many things from my phone. And logged out of them on my computers. Cowardly? Probably. I just have to let go the things I don't have the power to change.
