Jura & FribourgLast Blog | Index | Next Blog Books | Cantons | Delémont | Project Ninety | Training 21 February 2022 - Kerzers Today I finished one of this year's goals by visiting Jura and Fribourg on a little roadtrip. It was raining, but that just meant I got to see a rainbow along the way. I drove across the rolling hills of Switzerland and then up the valley of the Birs river to Delémont. The limestone canyon walls definitely made me curious about the potential for spelunking in the area. In Delémont I stopped for lunch and a little sightseeing. I chickened out on ordering the horse filet though. Next I had to once again cross the Jura mountains into central Switzerland to get to Fribourg. After innumerable tunnels I finally found myself amoung the beautiful French farmhouses and new that my journey was complete. I may not have visited all the US states (missing Alaska), or all the Canadian provinces (missing Newfoundland and Labrador), or all the Norwegian fylker (missing Innlandet and Nordland), but I have visited all the Swiss cantons! |
