Cruising the Beydaglari Coast

Today was a gorgeous sunny day, but a cold wind was blowing so rather than freeze on the beach we decided to drive down the coast. To the west of Antalya the coastal plain disappears as the mountains directly abut the sea. There are, of course, rivers which cut down through the mountains and form canyons through the Toros Mountains. The first of these is at Göynük, and we spent the first part of the day hiking up along a trail into the mountains.

After a midday meal we found a sunny cove protected from the wind and spent the last warm hours of the day relaxing. Tomorrow we fly home, but this eye-opening trip has been well worth it.
