Saturday I introduced Iwona to white water rafting. While a staple of my childhood, it's not something that was even on her radar. Interestingly it's not on the radar of many Swiss either. The guides on our trip were all either Kiwis or Aussies and most of the tourists were Americans. It didn't help Iwona's fear level that they were mostly under 30 and that the guide going over the safety procedures evidenced a cavalier attitude toward death. I was worried that she would bail on me before we started, but amazingly she trusted that I hadn't planned a suicidal activity for us. After a few rapids she got the hang of things and we ended up having a great time. The trip down the Lütschine ends in the Brienzersee where we also got to do some swimming before finding dinner in Interlaken - pulled BBQ beef! All in all the day really had the trappings of Tennessee.
