14 February 2025 When I was in high school I woke up early and blared The Great Southern Trendkill while I took a shower and got ready. Pantera never had the mainstream popularity of Metallica or Guns n' Roses, but they were definitely at the core of 90's metal. I was young, though, and didn't have extra money for concerts so I never saw them live. In 2003 they split up and shortly after that half the band died, so I never imagined I'd be attending a Pantera concert. But last night in Zürich I did! In 2022 the two remaining band members got back together and hired a couple pros to tour with them. The concert was a lot of fun, and I thoroughly enjoyed the mosh pit. You can really tell nobody in Europe ever played linebacker, but my current girth also gives me a lot of inertia. Just like when I saw Megadeth last summer it was a dream come true. |
