I'm not sure when I first encountered Le Petit Prince. I know at some point in my childhood I watched the 1970's live action movie and found it confusing. I also remember reading at least the first chapter in French about drawing the elephant. High school? College? I remain confused. Reading the book again now didn't help, unfortunately. There's a guy with a broken down plane and a kid and they're visiting tiny planets together. It still doesn't make sense. Or there are pieces missing Saint-Exupéry just assumed he didn't need to include. Even after all these years it's still truly annoying.
