29 March 2026 - Atlanta The Atlanta airport is the busiest in the world. I grew up here flying out of this airport to visit relatives, so it seems normal. The TSA snafus last week meant I got here super early today. Like I checked my bags as early as I could 6 hours before boarding an hour after I arrived. And then waited 20 mins in the TSA line. So I have a lot of time to kill. America, IPA, breaded and fried meat, and still I have a lot of time to kill. So I read. And watch people. And talk to people. Anyone will talk to you here. Tell you their life story with intimate details and then go catch their flight. I often wonder why we talk so much; why Graham Greene's "Quiet American" is a dead American. But here I am in the airport talking about my grandmother's funeral to strangers. |
