Matt Haig's The Midnight Library is a modern retelling of the classic Frank Capra movie, "It's a Wonderful Life". The main character, Nora, is unhappy with her life and resolves to end it by committing suicide. On her way to death she stops at the "Midnight Library", where she can see how her life would have turned out if she undid things that she regretted. In the end she decides to live and go back to her "root life" which she realizes is not so bad and where she's had a positive effect on many people's lives in the small town where she lives. Jaime and Lexi recommended it to me, and so I shall recommend it to you.
