Tweet This section of the Via Jacobi starts at the monastery of Einsiedeln, whose patron saint, Meinrad, was martyred in the 9th century. It follows the Alp river up toward the Mythen mountains and past the nunnery at Au. Then the path goes up from the valley, over the mountians, and down to the city of Schwyz. Haggenegg is the highest point on the Via Jacobi in Switzerland and probably also the most beautiful view. ![]() Hikes:
