This section of the Via Jacobi goes on a bridge across the Zürichsee from Rapperswil up into the alpine piedmont. Among these rolling hills is the monastery of Einsiedeln, whose patron saint, Meinrad, was martyred in the 9^th century. The trail overlaps with the Alpine Panorama route from St. Meinrad to Einsiedeln.
