The Historical Atlas of the Celtic WorldLast Blog | Index | Next Blog Fifty | Garden | Ninety | Twenty-Five 13 September 2022 In Dublin back in May we visited the National Museum of Ireland and, as I often do, I picked up a book as a souvenir: The Historical Atlas of the Celtic World by John Haywood. There were excellent maps on nearly every page that descirbed the different eras of known Celtic history and the accompanying text was generally informative. Reading it was pleasureful delving back into parts of history that I know well, from Rome to Irish independence. The book showed its age in the last section though, where it described modern Celtic culture as it was two decades ago. |
