The sun is setting over the Lauerzersee. Inside the band is playing. I'm cooling off in the water after a nearly perfect 10k. It was a rainy evening, so cool, and the sun came out toward the end. The course around the Lauerzersee is nearly perfectly flat and so the conditions were ripe for a PR. Unfortunately, it was not to be. But I still ran one of my best. Twelve seconds off of my best 10k outside of a larger race that is. My 10K split in the Lisbon half marathon is still the best I've ever done. I'll dry off and go inside soon; have a beer and listen to the music. But for now I'm just enjoying the sunset.
